Industrial Software Consultant
Ignition & MES · Gullegem · Full-time
Mustry Solutions is a team of three: Jasper, Sam and Bert. We are looking for a fourth colleague. We move quickly and work with focus. We help each other grow, both professionally and as people, and expect everyone to take initiative. That means asking for feedback and acting on it, or learning something new and putting it into practice.
At Mustry, you build software for manufacturers. You talk to the people who will use it, agree what it needs to do and develop the application in Ignition.
We are looking for an Industrial Software Consultant to join our team. You will work alongside Jasper, Sam and Bert on customer projects, contribute to the design and build the software. We share the work according to the project and each person's experience.
What you will do
- Work with engineering, IT, maintenance and operators to understand requirements and priorities.
- Design and build MES applications in Ignition, including data models, integrations, dashboards and user interfaces.
- Make architectural decisions and explain how they support the application, its operation and future changes.
- Manage scope, communicate progress and make the implications of changes clear.
- Build software yourself, use AI tools and critically review what you deliver.
- Work with your colleagues, take responsibility for your own work and discuss decisions with the team and the customer.
- Contribute to Revipe, our open-source industrial application platform in development, and to internal tools alongside customer projects.
What you bring
- Professional software development experience and the ability to discuss an application you helped design, deliver and maintain.
- Sound judgment about data models, application structure and user experience.
- Clear Dutch communication for independent customer conversations and written project agreements.
- You take responsibility for your work, ask for help when you need it and raise problems early.
- You try new technology and AI tools, judge the results yourself and want to learn how factories work.
- The ability to work regularly in Gullegem and at customer sites.
How you will grow
You will learn about our customers and our Ignition workflow while working on projects with the team. You bring your own experience and learn from your colleagues, just as they learn from you. We discuss what you want to improve and help you work on it. You take the next step yourself and act on feedback. After about six months, we want you to work independently as a consultant within the team, with discussion and support whenever you need it.
Experience with Ignition, MES or manufacturing helps. If you have built other business software and worked with customers, we would like to hear from you too. We assess the work you have done and the decisions you made. There is no required degree or fixed number of years of experience.
Where and how you work
Gullegem is your base. You combine office work, working from home and customer visits. Some projects involve three days a week at the customer site. We discuss the travel area and office arrangements during the first conversation.
Most of the work happens at a computer or in conversations with customers and colleagues, including visits to the production floor. Expect programming to take roughly a third of your time. Much of the rest goes into understanding the problem, designing the application and following up on the project. The balance changes as a project progresses. You need Dutch for customer conversations and written agreements.
What we offer
- A permanent, full-time employment contract: 40 hours a week with 12 additional ADV days.
- A company car with a charging card, under the company arrangements.
- Meal vouchers and eco vouchers.
- Hospitalisation insurance and group insurance.
- A laptop, phone with subscription and the equipment you need for your work.
- An expense allowance under the agreed arrangement.
- Access to AI tools for your work and support from colleagues who know Ignition.
- A compensation package that reflects your experience and responsibility.
About Mustry
Mustry Solutions builds industrial software for manufacturers, mainly using Ignition for customer projects. We advise customers on their applications and do the implementation, including architecture, integrations and CI/CD. We are also building Revipe, an open-source industrial application platform.
We want everyone here to grow, both professionally and as a person. We help each other do that and expect everyone to take initiative. That might mean asking for feedback and acting on it, or learning something new and putting it into practice. A willingness to keep learning is part of working at Mustry.
Tell us about your work
Email your CV, LinkedIn profile or a short introduction to hello@mustrysolutions.com, for the attention of Jasper Louage. Tell us about one project where you took responsibility and why you want to work with manufacturers. A long cover letter is not necessary.
We start with a conversation about your experience, expectations and the package. We then discuss a real software project and a practical MES case. You will also meet Sam and Bert.
